Thomas Greenlaw was a Shadowhunter who worked as a sentry of The Clave.
Biography[]
In 2016, when Jia Penhallow assumed full leadership of the Clave, many Downworlders claimed to have been tortured at The Gard. Isabelle Lightwood made a research and figured out that Greenlaw knew what was really going on there. Isabelle then made arrangements for Greenlaw to meet with her at the streets of New York City, accompanied by her brother Alec Lightwood, the head of the New York Institute. However, by the time they had arrived, Greenlaw had been fatally injured by another Shadowhunter, as a way to keep him silent. His final words were: "Caelestis Ignis" and "Inside", the former one meaning Heavenly Fire in latin, the name of a clandestine Clave program, which is far beyond others' knowledge.[1]
Isabelle later realized that Greenlaw had hidden something inside him, so she decided to made an autopsy on him. During the autopsy, Isabelle discovered a USB key with high encryption.[2]
