Taito was a werewolf with the New York werewolf pack.

Biography

Hunt for the Cup

While Taito was dining at the Jade Wolf one morning, their pack's alpha Theo gave a speech about the Shadowhuntersthe Clave and the Circle alike—thought they were better than them and shouldn't be trusted with Mortal Cup. He gave them instructions to abduct Clary Fairchild whom he suspected knew where the Cup was, though in the end it was Theo himself and Alaric who got Clary, while some wolves distracted her Shadowhunter companion Alec. The pack leadership changed that night when Luke Garroway fought Theo and won.[1]

Alliance

Taito was among the werewolves who, albeit unwillingly, followed Luke's orders and worked with Shadowhunters and vampires to rescue a Seelie knight from the Shadowhunters taking him to the City of Bones. While on their way to the Downworlders' entrance to the City of Bones, Taito forcefully bumped into the vampire Simon Lewis, instigating a face-off against the vampires that could have turned violent if not for Luke and Clary's interference.[2]

Much later, Taito was among the werewolves who hunted down Hodge Starkweather under Luke's orders, and they managed to track him down to the pier.[3]

Justice

Taito worried greatly for his goddaughter Gretel Monroe, who was taken by the Circle right in front of him. When Jace came to the Hunter's Moon the next morning, Maia tried to ask the Shadowhunter for help, but Taito recognized him as the one who took Gretel and initiated a fight, and his fellow werewolves joined in beating Jace up. When Taito threw him out the window, Jace escaped. They found out after that Gretel was found dead that morning. He and Maia told Luke about their encounter with Jace, and Taito suggested killing Jace in retaliation. Taito questioned Luke's loyalties but was interrupted by Maia before he could start another fight, and Luke reassured him that he'd kill Jace himself if he truly killed Gretel,[4] which they all later found out that he didn't.

He was among the werewolves who joined the siege on the New York Institute in an attempt to defeat Valentine Morgenstern. As soon as they entered the Institute, however, the Soul-Sword was activated and used to kill all the Downworlders who weren't able to get out in time, including Taito.[5]
