Malachi Dieudonné

Malachi Dieudonné was a Shadowhunter Consul who secretly served Valentine Morgenstern as a member of the Circle.

History[]

At one point, Malachi designed and created the Malachi Configuration, though it was never approved for field use and was stored in the Armory in Alicante under lock and key.^[1]

Malachi was the Consul during the time of Valentine Morgenstern's capture in 2016. Valentine was initially imprisoned at the New York Institute, the Institute of the city where he was captured, until the Institute head Alec Lightwood decided to have him transferred to the Gard. The transfer went awry because of Valentine's son's interference, infuriating Malachi.^[2]

When it was discovered that Lake Lyn was the Mortal Mirror,^[3] Malachi, being Consul, received this information from Imogen Herondale and then relayed it to Valentine. Malachi expected Valentine's "children" Clary Fairchild and Jace Herondale to try and foil Valentine's plans and waited for them in the woods around the lake and restrained them. He plotted to execute them but was overpowered by the pair and killed by Jace.^[4] His coup prompted the Clave to reopen cases and the investigation against all former Circle members.^[5]
